Flushed and breathless, I rush into the room and fall to the sofa. My head swirls at the blood racing through my veins, and as I wait for my heart to slow I recall this familiar feeling.

Is it the unbearable heat outdoors? A chance meeting with a handsome stranger, perhaps? Food poisoning?

No, I've just returned from the first Halloween shopping trip of the season!

And now I must go light a candle to the gods of good Halloween merchandise and pray for a bountiful harvest.

Halloween is in the air. Saw stuff out at Robinson May. Of course there's always the year round stores like Halloweentown in NoHo and the ol' Halloween Superstore off the 5.

Where did you go? Anywhere good?

No, just Michaels because they always have their stuff in first. They rarely have anything good, but I have to look anyway. There used to be a place called Confetti which sold/rented large mechanical pieces. Do you know it? I think they may have gone out of business.

I got several large props and my web-shooter at a store called Confetti just off the 101. A few years ago they "closed forever" and then mysteriously showed up in Thousand Oaks and have been somewhere in TO every year since. I've also been to a Confetti in Santa Monica, but it's small and more like Ahhs on Venture Blvd. in the valley.
